Surfing the internet I found this wonderful pouffe made OF PET bottles! The pouffe is very simple to make: columns of interlocked PET bottles boud together by clear adhesive tape, covered in a heat insulation material, and then in decorative fabric. See the scheme below.
Bond together 37 PET bottles with transparent sticky tape.
Cut 2 round pieces of pasteboard. Stick it to our pouffe.
Cut 2 round pieces of heat insulation material and 1 rectangular piece. You can also use foam rubber or padding polyester.
Join it all with handmade stitches.
Make a cover with old T-shirts.
Knit the side part and crochet the top part of the pouffe. The bottom is of the fabric.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea. Have wanted to get a couple of pouffe's but quite expensive. Don't know about knitting outer cover, would be alright in recycled material. I have an old woollen coat that just might do the trick.
ReplyDeleteThis is very neat, but I cannot knit. The old tshirts actually look good for a teens room. My mother-in-law has one of these made from old half gallon juice cans that was made probably 40+ years ago. It is a neat steeping stool.

ReplyDeletewas wondering if you would be able to sit on this? or would it break? it looks tempting to sit on so i know if i try this SOMEONE will sit on it and i dont want my hard work destroyed so easily.
ReplyDeleteIt is very steady and solid. And you can use hardwearing fabric instead of crocheted pieces.
